Sunshine, on my shoulder...

I had to go to the eye doctor today and get my vision checked. They gave me those stylish sunglasses after they dialated my eyes. I took them home and gave them to James. He didn't try to take them off. I even got a few grins out of him while he was wearing them on his way to the doctor's office. So, here he is, my handsome man!

Playtime

Walking with Mama

James LOVES going for walks!! He talked the whole time we were out and fussed at me when we got home. :)

Talking

James has really started talking alot. I didn't catch too much of it on these videos, but I got a little bit. He was talking up a storm until I turned the camera on and he became "shy."

I'm a Big Kid Now!

James has started holding his bottle when he eats. He's not strong enough to support it all by himself, but he tries awful hard!

He's also figured out that it's pretty cool to sit in his bumbo seat. He's kinda lounging out here watching me blowdry my hair, but it's the first time he's sat in it all by himself without needing any help supporting his head.

Playtime with Daddy

James loves to play with his daddy. He thinks he is the funniest thing around! Here are a few cute videos of them playing together.

Splish Splash, I was takin a bath...

James LOVES bathtime. He splashes and plays and fusses at us when we take him out of the tub. However, for Christmas he got a robe from his Uncle Neal and Aunt Fay. He thought it was pretty cool looking and didn't fuss until I went to take him out of his robe to put him in his pj's.

I'll Be Home for Christmas

I was blessed to be able to continue to take off work through the month of December so that I could spend James' first Christmas with him. My sister and brother came down to visit us the second weekend of December and when they went back to NC, James and I went with them. This way I was able to spend about 2 weeks with my family during the Christmas holidays. Aaron joined us the week of Christmas. We had a wonderful time!!

James and I stayed with my sis and brother-in-law and they just spoiled him rotten!! He got to sleep in as late as he wanted, claim the papasan or couch which ever suited his fancy, be carried anywhere he wanted...etc. He got to take his first shower while we were there too. My sis has one of those showerheads that detatch, so it was easy to give him a "shower" with her help. James didn't know what to think. He kept trying to lay down and I had to keep a good hold on him to keep him from slipping out of my arms. He didn't cry though, I just think he prefers his bathtub here at home. My sis has a little calendar that counts down the days to Christmas. Each day is a little pocket and you move this cute little Christmas mouse each day. She tried to get James to help her move the mouse and every day, he cried and tried to get away from it. :) It was pretty funny.

We spent the Christmas week with PawPaw and Mema. They loved and spoiled him even more. Mema would hold him early in the morning so Mama and Daddy could get a bit more sleep and PawPaw would hold him when we went shopping or whenever I wanted James to nap. Apparently, PawPaw's are great for napping on. :)

Christmas day, James almost slept through the gift opening, but woke up in the nick of time. He got some cute little camo booties, storybooks, clothes, and a soft bear rattle. The rattle was great b/c he's started eating his fists (teething) and the bear's nose is small enough to fit in his mouth. :)

We came home the Sunday following Christmas so that I could have almost a week with him before starting back to work.
Hope you enjoyed the pics. All of the Christmas ones are in a slideshow in the following post.

Angel

I found the most PERFECT angel to top our tree...what do you think???

Grins and Giggles

He LOVES his daddy!

I can't believe it's been 3 months already. He is such a blessing in our lives! He is doing something new everyday (well that's what it feels like). He now has figured out how to spin in bed so when we put him down at night and go get him in the morning he is laying opposite of the way we put him. When he lays in bed with us, he has figured out how to scoot over to be next to us. He will plant one foot and push off hard with the other and scoot his little self over. He grins all the time! I love just laying/sitting/talking/playing with him to see all of his smiles and coos. He's trying hard to talk. I know that right now he is just babbling, but a couple of the things he babbles sound like, "hey", "mom", and "ma". Here he is sacked out in our bed after he stretched out and "kicked" us out! :)

I have to go back to work tomorrow and it's going to kill me! I can't stand the thought of leaving my little man behind. I know I'll survive, but I'm sure there will be plenty of tears until I get used to it.

James has been sleeping through the night since Thanksgiving. We are so proud of him! We went to a New Year's party last night and James stayed up to ring in the new year with us. He pitched a fit when I tried to lay him down over there. Once I picked him up though, he was a happy camper the rest of the night. I wonder if he's gonna be a night owl like his mother? I half expected him to be grumpy today b/c of his late night, but he's been full of grins and giggles all day. Here are some pics I took today. I finally got him to smile for the camera. I will post Christmas pics soon. I lost my camera over the holidays and am waiting on my sis to email me the pics she took. Hopefully they will be up this weekend.
