I was blessed to be able to continue to take off work through the month of December so that I could spend James' first Christmas with him. My sister and brother came down to visit us the second weekend of December and when they went back to NC, James and I went with them. This way I was able to spend about 2 weeks with my family during the Christmas holidays. Aaron joined us the week of Christmas. We had a wonderful time!!
James and I stayed with my sis and brother-in-law and they just spoiled him rotten!! He got to sleep in as late as he wanted, claim the papasan or couch which ever suited his fancy, be carried anywhere he wanted...etc. He got to take his first shower while we were there too. My sis has one of those showerheads that detatch, so it was easy to give him a "shower" with her help. James didn't know what to think. He kept trying to lay down and I had to keep a good hold on him to keep him from slipping out of my arms. He didn't cry though, I just think he prefers his bathtub here at home. My sis has a little calendar that counts down the days to Christmas. Each day is a little pocket and you move this cute little Christmas mouse each day. She tried to get James to help her move the mouse and every day, he cried and tried to get away from it. :) It was pretty funny.
We spent the Christmas week with PawPaw and Mema. They loved and spoiled him even more. Mema would hold him early in the morning so Mama and Daddy could get a bit more sleep and PawPaw would hold him when we went shopping or whenever I wanted James to nap. Apparently, PawPaw's are great for napping on. :)
Christmas day, James almost slept through the gift opening, but woke up in the nick of time. He got some cute little camo booties, storybooks, clothes, and a soft bear rattle. The rattle was great b/c he's started eating his fists (teething) and the bear's nose is small enough to fit in his mouth. :)
We came home the Sunday following Christmas so that I could have almost a week with him before starting back to work.
Hope you enjoyed the pics. All of the Christmas ones are in a slideshow in the following post.
